Baby quilt for Christopher (with a math theme)

A week ago one of my best friends at work had her little boy!!  Once he was actually here, I got busy making the quilt so that I could bring it over ASAP!!  One week later, it is made, quilted, bound and ready.  Tomorrow I will be going to visit, which makes me very happy.  I love babies!
I used math prints and geometrics on this.  The quilt was a pattern called Sophie's Park by Carlene J. Westberg and I have to say it was fun and easy to do.  The only part that took too long (and it was all me, not the pattern) was adding the circle appliques to the borders.  I had to use a cut away stabilizer, which added an hour or so to the project.  Also, even though I added the circles before the borders were added to the quilt, it was a little awkward to go around in circles with the machine on the long strips.  Kenny was not a fan of the quilt until the circle borders were added, so it was worth it.

For the backing I used a white minky-type of fabric so it would be soft on the baby.  The fabric used on the circles and the binding was from Berenstain Bears!  I miss that stuff from when my kids were little!! :(

Well, tonight it is all done and ready for little Christopher!!  Tomorrow it will be swaddling him and his momma!!   I would definitely make this again.
