Pheasant for dinner tonight

Here is the sky right at dusk as we were finishing up our pheasant hunt today. It was a great day with temps in the 40s and a clear sky.

My son Rob, with two of his pheasants in the game pouch of his vest. This was our first time hunting together as a family this year. We have hunted together since he was a very little kid. He still likes it and it's always a day of memories and fun.

Tonight we are having the pheasant (breaded) with oven fried potatoes and string beans. We had the best time today between the weather and the good hunting conditions. Our one dog, Penny, was a little wired, but Millie did a great job as always. She is sleeping, and snoring, soundly on the couch next to me as I write this.

Hope your day included some outdoor time and a little fun with your family.

Howdy Momma!! It was really warm today and we had a great time. I hope we actually do get some snow around here because we feel like spring is coming tomorrow the way it has been so warm.

I am at the wood stove now. We all ate pheasant for dinner and the kids are all upstairs watching movies together.

Thanks for checking in!! XXOO

Awesome day!! Great hunt! Do you do anything "crafty-wise" with the feathers?
When are you guys going to get winter!???!! LOL hugs, B

Hi Bonne: I heard that winter might come later this week. Probably right about the time that I am heading up to my sister-in-law's house for the weekend! I hope not! Once I am there, it can snow for a day if it wants.

We have a friend who uses the feathers for her artwork! It is hard at this time of year to get good ones though. They get torn on branches and don't look as good after a while. We did get some nice ones today from one rooster though. Talk to you soon!! :)

Sounds like a fun day! We don't hunt, although Louisiana is called the SPORTSMAN'S PARADISE.
I grew up surrounded by duck, deer, alligator and squirrel hunting. It was fun then but I guess I had my fill back in the day.:)
We mostly fish-just dug a pond over the last few months. Lot's more fishing with the grandkids coming up! Also so swimming this summer.
